Let’s Work Together!
Everything is Better Together
Oak Lawn Band is looking for your help. The saying it takes a village to raise a family runs true for raising and running a community band. The OLB Board has formed groups and committees and needs your help on their teams. If you have an hour a month to twenty hours a month to help, every minute and any skill set can help!
Here are a list of our current committees:
-
Chair: Mackenzie Regier, Director of Fundraising
Help the band find and apply for grants. Doesn’t necessarily require writing skills, but project management and attention to detail in our applications.
-
Chair: Mackenzie Regier, Director of Fundraising
Plan and/or execute events such as North Texas Giving Day or bingo night to raise money for the band. Bring your creativity and passion for the band.
-
Chair: J’qualin Scott, Director of Community Engagement
Make sure our performances and concerts run smoothly! This includes venue coordination, ticketing, concessions, stage management, raffles, silent auctions and everything else it takes for a successful event.
-
Chair: Jakin Vela, Director of Public Relations
Connect the band with local businesses who support our mission. Needs a “salesman” attitude to reach out to former, current and potential new sponsors.
-
Chair: Olivia Osborne, Director of Marketing
Promote band activities and events on social media and printed materials. Looking for experience with social media, graphic design, print layout, tracking metrics, photography or videography.
-
Chair: Jakin Vela, Director of Public Relations
Craft how the band presents itself to the world. Includes branding, press releases, newsletters and website design.
-
Chair: Kason Bakouris, Director of Social Events
Help plan and execute fun times for band members! Looking for creative ideas and organized people who like to have fun. Includes after-rehearsal socials, concert afterparties, the annual banquet, and anything else you can dream up!
-
Chair: Laura Yoo, Director of Membership
Be part of the “welcome wagon” that greets new members, helps them onboard into the band, and checks in if we haven’t seen them in a while. We need friendly faces who are also organized enough to keep track of people as they come and go.
-
Chair: Nick Nunley, Artistic Director
Help choose when and where the band performs! Planning at least a year in advance, looking at venues and connecting them with the needs of the band.
-
Chair: Nick Nunley, Artistic Director
Headed by Nick Durand, organize, prepare for and execute perfmance days. This commitee will work hand in hand with the Events Volenteer Commitee to make sure band concert day events flow seamlessly.
Thanks for your interest in volunteering with the Oak Lawn Band! We strive to make sure that everyone has a place that fits their skills and time availability. When everyone is involved, the workload is more manageable. Please complete the survey below and join us on July 26th at the Sammons center for a volunteer workday from 1-4PM where we will be hosting a live draft. We will try to make sure you get on the committee you want, but if you have skill sets that are need on another committee you may be asked to consider the other group.
