general search for an ARTISTIC DIRECTOR.
We are looking for an Artistic Director with
previous experience Conducting a Community Band.
We are a 501(c) (3) organization made up of primarily
Volunteer Musicians from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
and Transgendered community of the Greater Dallas
Area. Our membership is open To Musicians of all
Levels from those who have not played in several years
to Professional Musicians within the community.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
This organization shall exist solely for the
purpose of encouraging musicians and of educating and
developing an audience to appreciate their performance
by actively promoting the highest level of musical
appreciation and achievement through performance,
composition, and programming of instrumental music
within the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered
community of the United States of America,
specifically within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgendered community of Dallas Texas. While
membership does not exclude anyone based on sex, race,
creed, HIV status, disability, sexual orientation,
gender identification, or musical ability, the
continuing goal of the OLB is to be a cohesive,
cultural force within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgendered community and a positive reflection of
the community as a whole.
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR:
The Artistic Director serves as the Principal
Conductor of the OLB, and shall be appointed by the
Executive Board subject to approval by the general
membership of the band. The Artistic Director is
responsible for the musical guidance, rehearsals, and
public performances of the band, and as such has the
privilege of selecting the repertoire of the OLB. He
or She shall also have final approval of all guest
soloists or groups who are invited to perform with the
OLB.
