Christopher Charles Bronson is a Dallas native and alumnus of Southern Methodist University with a B.M. in Music Education. While at SMU, Chris maintained a Meadows Artistic Scholarship and studied conducting with Dr. Jack Delaney. Under the direction of Delaney and Dr. Paul Phillips he has played in numerous performances of the Meadows Wind Ensemble, Meadows Symphony Orchestra, Meadows Opera Orchestra, and various chamber ensembles. Chris’s primary instrument is clarinet. His principal teacher was Paul Garner of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. In this relationship of five years, Garner has been highly influential in Chris’s development as an overall musician as well as a clarinetist. In Fall 2005, while abroad in France, Chris studied clarinet with Philippe Cuper of the Paris Opera Orchestra. Currently, Chris is student teaching in the Richardson Independent School District. After completing this in December 2007, he will be certified to teach K-12 music in Texas. Chris plans to pursue a career as a high school and/or middle school band director immediately. Chris owes his success to God for giving him the potential, Gary Faust for lighting the musical fire inside him, Paul Garner for helping that flame grow, and his family for always loving and supporting him through that growth. |
